Resolution requirements
 |
Photoshop or other pixel based
digital files must be supplied at a minimum resolution of 100 dpi & maximum 150 dpi at
the finished size (the size you wish your graphic to be printed to) of the graphic being
produced.
It is important that resolution be built into the original scan or digital photo.
Low resolution images that are resampled (expanded) to a higher resolution will not
print well.
Preferred application requirements:
The preferred application for vector art and
panel layout is Adobe Illustrator. The preferred application for pixel art or photos
is Adobe Photoshop. Graphic files supplied in other applications may be subject to
extra charges.
Regarding Fonts:
If you are submitting print ready files, please outline or convert to paths all fonts
before sending. If you are submitting files that require text editing, remember to
include the fonts with your disk submission.
When submitting CD's:
Do not send original artwork. Send copies. We will not return submitted disks
unless specifically requested.
A special word about artwork for logos:
Logos taken from web sites are not adequate for print (the resolution is too low) and will
need to be redrawn at extra cost. The same holds for logos embedded in Microsoft
Word and Powerpoint. Logos need to be vector based files, or , if pixel based, at a high
enough resolution to be enlarged to final print size.
A special word about color matching:
When color matching is important, we need something other than a digital file to match the
color to. Send along a hard copy proof or alert us to specific pms colors
to match.
Also, when sending Photoshop files, if a color match is important, the file must be in
layers. We cannot match to specific colors in a flattened Photoshop file.
If we have printed a graphic for you in the past and you wish to match to that graphic,
you must send the graphic back to us for matching. Due to the sensitive nature and
variables (over time) of digital printing, color shifts occur. |
